Thank you for applying to be a Class A volunteer! Volunteers are the backbone of the Special Olympics movement. The most valuable traits you can offer are your time and willingness to provide the greatest athletes around the best experience possible.

Class A Volunteers are volunteers who have regular, close physical contact wtih athletes, are in a position of authority or supervision with athletes, are in a position of trust of athletes, and/or handle substantial amounts of cash or other assets of the program. Class A volunteer opportunities range from event management and coaching, to fundraising and volunteering on the day of an event. In most cases, experience is not needed and training will be provided no matter what position you select.

Note: If you already know the team you will be connecting with, you are welcome to start your background check. If you do not know which team you will be connecting with, please wait until you hear from us before starting your background check.

Steps for applying to be a Class A Volunteer:

• Click on "Register Now" in the purple box on the right hand side of the page and you will be directed to a page where you will select your registration type
• Follow the prompts to finish registering

If you have already been to this site and have created a profile  for Special Olympics Washington and would like to make changes to your existing selections click on the "Login" button and enter your email address and password.
